fitness/guest room

dull fitness/guest room gets a fresh new look

Our client - a busy professional - wanted a fresh and inspiring new look for her fitness room that does double duty as a much used guest room. It needed to be functional and inspiring; with fresh colors and unexpected items - our specialty!

Before:

After:

This bedding was picked out by the homeowner. It is absolutely out of her comfort zone but is perfect for this space.

This was the jumping off point for the room. It is the homeowners quilt that holds sentimental value. She had it backed and requilted and now it is lovingly displayed at the end of the bed.

These darling treasures are the homeowner's husbands' that she had framed in a shadow box that she wanted to be incorporated into the room. We love the nostalgia it creates.

This is our own art. We knew we wanted to incorporate some kind of original art into the room - and this is what Lisa came up with. Isn't it fantastic?! It is the homeowners favorite part of the room.

Yes,  those are empty frames. Our homeowner wanted a place to display photos of her family and  grandchildren doing athletics,  so we hung the frames for her to be filled at her leisure. We filled a couple with motivational quotes, to help her be inspired to workout (or to maybe just take a nap on her inviting new bedding)

Our homeowner also wanted us to incorporate a mirror into the room so that she could see her form as we was lifting weights (we also thought it was a great idea to have a mirror as this is a guest room)
She also wanted a white board so that she could track her workouts and her progress. We placed it on the inside of the tv cabinet.

We added this cabinet that does double duty as a side table for overnight guests, storage for tv remotes and a place to display more keepsakes from years past.
